I will be criticizing this painting that was displayed in the TCC Carillon Gallery. This picture is a person sitting down with their arms out like they're meditating, and their face is not visible because he/she is sitting in tall grass. The colors in the back make it look as if the sun it is setting.
This painting is made up of dark and light values. What is wanted to be visible is light and the back of the painting is darker. The person and grass is made up of organic lines which also overlap the background.
The focal point in this painting is the person sitting in the tall grass because it is the first thing that anyone would notice when looking at this painting.
This painting was probably made to represent the painters love for meditation, and relaxation.
We as people have a lot of things that are going on in our lives and we have very many everyday responsibilities to take care of. It’s no surprise that we might get stressed along the way, and a good way to handle stress it to clear our mind. Meditation is a perfect solution. This painting represents a stress relive meditation session.
I personally like this piece of art work because it isn't simple to look at you must look a little harder to see what's going on in the painting.
